[oh no. he has mentally noted that and it is with him forever now. gives her another headpat and then stops himself]
Give me five things that would make it better. Excluding stabbing things with chakrams; we'll get to the basics for that today, if you're still up for it.
[it probably has to be reasonable things so like, sugar being alive and still here is out. nyx being here and them having officially made up is out.
it's probably telling that there is a really long pause. Something she needs to consider??? That's for her and not other people?????? it's why she defaults to other people even now]
I—don't know. Seeing Sonata happy...? I know she wants a tank for aquatic plants—
[honestly relatable so he can't throw stones about it]
Sonata did tell me about the tank, but that's not quite what I had in mind. Uhm, well, it's fine to think about it. Minuet couldn't think of five things right away either. It can be anything, so don't overthink it.
[are you just going around trying to make people think about themselves my guy]
... I think I'd probably like a telescope. Maybe. I like stars. A guide to stars, too... I knew all the constellations and everything back home, but...
I did kind of put Minuet on the spot. It's hard to think of something when you're suddenly asked. But, a telescope is a good one! Charting the stars here might even be pretty useful too. If you see any constellations that look like the ones back home, it might mean we aren't too far away.
Mama used to do it all the time with me and Nyx, and I just kept doing it as I got older.
[she hums, and then starts ticking things off on her fingers.]
I took dance lessons. I hung out with the rest of B-Komachi. I used to do karaoke with my friends. I liked shopping. I liked watching baseball. I liked wandering around Akihabara and Shibuya and Harajuku a lot, too. It's been a really long time since I've had time for any of that, though.
[... She starts ticking another list off on her fingers.]
6pm, stage performance. 9pm, commuting home. 11pm, getting home. 8:30am, going to school. 10:30am, leaving early. 11:30am, briefing for my segment on Dig Deep! One chance!, 12pm, recording. 3pm, commuting while I eat lunch and go over an interview and study for my final exams. 4pm, filming for a variety show that airs late at night. 9:30pm, choreographing our new song and discussing our youtube videos at the same time. 11pm, acting lessons so that I can play Sugar in the movie about her... 3am was when I should be going to bed, but I would still use it to rehearse...
Then let's settle for "being so tired you don't have the energy to think". I'll give you a list of drills to do daily with the chakrams. Physical activity is good for keeping thoughts away.
Exercises are only thirty minutes to an hour at most. That's still plenty of time to do other things with your day. What are you helping Daisy with?
[while he's asking her that he will also check her grip on her chakrams and show her the drills to practice; it's just a few sets of swings at a dummy while making sure she doesn't let her weapons fly out of her grasp, so it's easy to multitask]
[She's attentive, at least. It's very obvious that she's quick to pick up things like movements and grips and stuff like that, almost like she's kind of in her element.
But also:]
I'm helping her with a sunflower garden... I have to plant everything and then I need to keep it up. And sing to them every day. Everything here grows twice as fast if you sing to them, I guess... and Daisy's really nice, so it's not like I think she's lying. She's definitely telling the truth. And she'll let me try her sunbutter fudge when she's finished making it!
[she did mention what she typically does in a day back home, so he adjusts the routine accordingly when he sees what she can handle! he makes a lot of approving noises at her footwork.]
A sunflower garden! Wow. That's a lot of work. And I'm sure Daisy's right, she knows what she's talking about and she's always helping people out. I didn't think of singing to any of our plants... I've just been telling them that I love them.
Once you finish, though, you should ask her for her sunbutter fudge recipe.
I might get more for Clover, too. I guess—they're good protection for some things? So it probably wouldn't hurt to have them. And I can try, but I don't know how open she is to giving up her recipes.
[...]
How'd you figure this stuff out so fast? I thought you didn't know anything about it.
It's fine if she keeps her recipes to herself. I just thought it would be nice to make some for Aides since he likes sweets.
[picks up his spear that he'd been slowly whittling at and gives it a twirl in his hand]
And I didn't figure it out fast. I had to research it! Any S-Class would have been able to pick up a weapon and use it instantly; looking things up isn't that special. It took longer than it seems like too. I was practicing every night while I was asleep.
It's like...lucid dreaming? And when I'm asleep I have some skills that let me...pick things up faster, you could say. Blood Fiend said that sometimes people wander into each other's dreams here, so if it happens I can show you. It's kind of hard to explain while you're awake.

I haven't seen anything that looks familiar yet, though. I'm not really sure how to chart them, either.

Did you stargaze a lot back home? Maybe it would've been easier to answer if I'd just asked what you do for fun back home...

Just don't make it so much that I can't help Daisy too, okay? I got a job from her, too. To try to help.

I haven't either. Maybe we both just got lucky! I wonder if you could try to direct yourself intentionally towards someone's dream...
no subject
... Maybe. But if people could do that, they'd end up in my dreams, and no one wants to end up in my dreams.
no subject
No? What's wrong with your dreams? If they're full of fuzzy teddy bears I promise to keep it secret.
